Extending your business’s outdoor space is a great way to accommodate clients, residents and customers. Pergolas, gazebos and pavilions are perfect for providing a comfortable outdoor space while also adding a completed look to the exterior of your office, hotel, apartment building or restaurant.
All three options provide protection from the elements, shade and add visual interest. While they generally use the same materials, and are close in characteristics, there are slight differences that are important when choosing which structure, you would like to have built.
Striking and economical, pergolas are the conventional source of shade for many outside areas. Characterized by slatted roofs and open sides, their wide-open concept provides a measure of protection while still letting plenty of sunshine and fresh air to filter through. Our pergolas are anchored into your existing slab or stabilized with a subversive concrete footing that can be secured to your building.
While pergolas are gorgeous additions to any outdoor environment, they do need to be re-stained every couple of years, depending on your local weather.

Materials
The materials used to construct pergolas, pavilions and gazebos is part of their natural beauty. While each can be made from a variety of materials, the most popular is cedar wood. Deciding on a material depends on it’s intended function, the look you are going for, and the maintenance you desire.
Pressure Treated Wood
Pressure treated wood is less expensive and heavier than cedar, however, it is more susceptible to moving, warping and cracking. It can be used in certain areas of the structures while letting cedar play a central role in the construction.
Cedar
Cedar is the most attractive material of the three options and gives a rich texture to your outdoor structure. It is a sturdy wood that can withstand extreme temperatures and weather. It can be painted or stained, which gives you many options for its finished look. Depending on your climate, it will need to be re-stained bi-annually.
Vinyl
Vinyl has the lowest maintenance requirements, versus wood. It comes in a large variety of colors and is easy to clean. It is durable but is susceptible to bending in very high winds. It can also become dinged or scratched from heavy use or flying debris.
Roof Styles
There are many available roofing styles to choose for your outdoor structure. In addition to style options, there are a variety of materials available for the top roofing layer: asphalt shingles, cedar shingles, metal, tile and corrugated plastic.
Additional Features
Columns
Pergolas, pavilions and gazebos, can all be designed with columns that enhance the design. Whether non-load bearing, or load bearing, these columns can be constructed from:
Brick accents can be designed around the base of the column, or used in complete form, from floor to roof. Combining brick and cedar gives an interesting feature to your structure. Fiberglass posts come in a variety of styles and can also be combined with brick for a rich look. All columns are firmly anchored into a concrete base to assist with stability and longevity.
Electrical
To help keep your structure cool during the heat of the day, it can be outfitted with electricity to power lights, ceiling fans or appliances.
Electrical wiring can be concealed during the construction of your outdoor structure. If you need to power an outdoor heater or kitchen, or heater, electric sockets can be outfitted onto the roof, posts or floor.
As with any added structure, pergolas, pavilions and gazebos will add value to your commercial space. Our outdoor structures are specially built to avoid twisting, shrinking, warping or sagging. They are customized to your business’s needs and are built for endurance.
